Two Smallfield 15-year-olds among three teens arrested on suspicion of rape

Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of rape following a pre-planned operation in Smallfield on Friday morning (June 15).

Two 15-year-old boys and one 18-year-old man, all from Smallfield were arrested before later being released on bail.

One 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of rape, possession of extreme pornographic images and distributing indecent images of a child.

The second 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual activity with a child.

The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of rape.

As of June 18, Surrey Police said: “The three teenagers arrested on Friday on suspicion of rape and other sexual offences have been released on bail.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”

These arrests relate to a report of sexual assault in Redhill on Sunday, June 10.

Police cars were spotted on Woodside Crescent when the operation was taking place but they did not confirm this is where the arrests took place.

As part of the same pre-planned operation a 26-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of possession of intent with supply class A and class B drugs.

Police have confirmed that the 26-year-olds arrest is unrelated to the report of sexual assault.

A Surrey Police spokesman said: “[He] has been released under investigation for this matter.

“He was separately arrested while in custody on a court warrant for failing to appear at court, and will appear at magistrate’s court later today.”
